Site Merchandising Specialist

New Directions Aromatics is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Site Merchandising Specialist to join our dynamic e-commerce team. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the ideal candidate will have a passion for online retail and a proven track record of driving sales and improving the customer experience through effective site merchandising strategies. Proficiency with Excel and Google Analytics is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute site merchandising strategies to drive sales and enhance the overall customer experience.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, product management, and design, to ensure alignment of merchandising initiatives.
- Manage the product catalog on the website, ensuring all information is accurate, up-to-date, and compelling.
- Conduct regular analysis of key performance indicators (KPIs) related to site merchandising and make data-driven recommendations for improvements.
- Optimize product placement, categorization, filtering options, search functionality, and navigation to facilitate an intuitive and engaging shopping experience.
- Work with vendors to obtain necessary assets such as high-quality images, videos, product specifications and other supporting materials for effective presentation.
- Collaborate closely with the UX/UI team to enhance user experience through intuitive navigation paths and visually appealing layouts.
- Monitor competitor websites to stay informed about industry best practices and trends in site merchandising.
- Stay updated on industry trends in e-commerce site merchandising techniques and apply them appropriately.
Qualifications
- Proven work experience in e-commerce or online retail with a focus on site merchandising strategies.
- Strong understanding of online retail principles, including customer journeys, conversion optimization techniques, and SEO best practices.
- Experience using content management systems (CMS) or similar tools for managing digital content.
- Proficiency with Excel and Google Analytics to track site performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make actionable recommendations.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with any e-commerce platform, such as Shopify, BigCommerce, Adobe Commerce, or Salesforce Commerce Cloud.
- Hands-on experience maintaining e-commerce sites (direct to consumer or B2B).
- Knowledge of e-commerce marketing space and best practices.
- Familiarity with e-commerce shoppers and an eye for detail.
Additional Requirements
- Must pass any and all required background checks.
- Must be and remain compliant with all legal or company regulations for working in the industry.
