Reporting to the Manager, Geological Optimization, the selected individual will work within a multi-disciplinary team focused on continuously optimizing SAGD pads currently operating.ResponsibilitiesTechnical Expectations:Support short and long-term development plans, including:Well executionWell surveillanceProduction optimizationProviding geological properties for production-related forecastingContributing to regulatory applications, scheme amendments, and directivesSupport workflow optimization projects to improve geoscience and reservoir engineering workflows and outputs.Conduct resource assessments using integrated datasets to support production forecasts over the life cycle of a SAGD pad.Generate new ideas and opportunities to redevelop areas undergoing production, providing incremental value.Interpret observation well programs related to SAGD operations and analyze cased hole logging data (e.g., RSTs, piezometers, thermocouples) and steam chamber core results.Collaborate with geophysicists to interpret 4D seismic data and integrate steam chamber results into the geological model.Characterize the reservoir using all geoscience datasets, incorporating production and conformance results, and relate findings back to the geological model.Work with a multi-disciplinary team to troubleshoot production and steam trends, aiming to maximize production and minimize SOR.Monitor the reservoir for issues related to reservoir containment.Leadership Expectations:Mentor junior team members.Share learnings with peers.Initiate trials and studies to improve current best practices.RequirementsMust be legally eligible to work in Canada.Professional Geologist, accredited with APEGA.8+ years of experience required.Preference for SAGD thermal or other enhanced oil recovery experience in Alberta and/or Saskatchewan.Experience in horizontal well planning and execution is considered an asset.Advanced level skills in Geoscience Technical Competencies with a depth of knowledge in multiple geoscience disciplines.Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and influence others without authority.Ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely to a diverse audience.Strong stakeholder managementWillingness to learn Power BIWhat We OfferWhy work with Brunel?
