Position:

SENIOR PROJECT GEOLOGIST This position is tasked with performing geological and geophysical analyses to evaluate and optimize the potential of Greenfire's resources by utilizing comprehensive geological datasets.

The Senior Project Geologist will also assess alternative plays and provide strategic recommendations to management concerning future evaluations and acquisitions.

This role encompasses supporting the formulation and execution of commercial initiatives, planning and implementing appraisal and development strategies, and managing drilling operations both from the office and in the field.

This is a permanent full-time role based at the Greenfire Resources Calgary office, with occasional fieldwork as required.

Reporting to the GEOSCIENCES MANAGER

Responsible for maintaining geological and geophysical datasets; Offers technical guidance and oversight to colleagues and junior personnel, including participation in peer review activities.

Prepares and presents findings to technical management, senior leadership, and joint venture partners.
Provides operational support during drilling activities, including time spent in the field.
8 hours per day from Monday through Friday, with overtime and weekend hours as necessary.

Fieldwork will be required at times to support drilling and site operations; 12 hours per day including weekends when engaged in field activities.

A Bachelor's Degree from a recognized post-secondary institution in Geology is required; advanced skills in petroleum and/or seismic interpretation are considered advantageous.

Familiarity with the stratigraphy of the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, particularly the McMurray Formation and Athabasca Oil Sands, including the application of clastic sedimentology and sequence stratigraphy principles.

Proficient in using Petrel and GeoScout/Accumap software. Ability to be adaptable and responsive to changing conditions in a dynamic work environment with tight deadlines.
Demonstrates initiative in identifying and undertaking projects and responsibilities.
Previous experience on active drilling sites is essential.
