Job Description

Mission

CIMA+ seeks a Mobility and Transportation Engineer to join our multidisciplinary Transportation team in the Maritimes region based in our Halifax/Dartmouth office. This position will support the continuing development and growth of CIMA+'s Transportation Engineering business.

This is an opportunity for passionate professionals looking to develop their careers to the next level. You will play a key role in securing business and delivering major projects relating to our Transportation sector for the province of Nova Scotia and other Maritimes clients.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Major involvement in business development, including identifying and pursuing new clients and markets and proposal development
  • Participate in strategic planning and client management
  • Leading multidisciplinary team for traffic engineering, policy development, road safety, big data analytics, transportation planning, preliminary and detailed design, and illumination and signal design for federal, provincial, and municipal clients in accordance with the latest standards and guidelines
  • Taking Ownership of all aspects of project management from proposal development to project closeout, including quality management requirements, project Management and costing controls
  • Work closely with other sectors at CIMA+ to facilitate cross-marketing and advancement of the corporate strategic plan

Qualifications

  • Registered as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or be eligible for registration in Nova Scotia. Limited Engineer Licence applicants in relevant disciplines would be considered.
  • 15+ years of consulting engineering experience on transportation projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Experience and knowledge of Nova Scotia Ministry of Transportation and Public Works, Halifax Region Municipality and other local clients' traffic engineering standards, manuals, and requirements is essential.
  • Familiarity with engineering design and transportation analysis software packages such as AIMSUN, VISSIM, and EMME is beneficial
