Job Description

St. Ann's Senior Citizens Village Corporation, Samaritan Place, and the Hospice at Glengarda (Emmanuel Health organizations), all located in Saskatoon, are joining resources to recruit for a Multisite Director of Human Resources (HR) & Labour Relations (LR). Each organization is either affiliated or contracted with the Saskatchewan Health Authority to provide compassionate, holistic, personal, and nursing care to Long Term Care Nursing Residents and/or Patients requiring Hospice services. We embrace the principles of Catholic health care and are driven by our Mission, Vision, and Values.

The Director of HR/LR will report to the Executive Director and work with managers and staff within all three sites. The Director will be accountable for effective HR and LR programs and practices that ensure:

  1. Efficient and respectful staffing.
  2. Proper and consistent application of CBAs, legislation, and policies.
  3. Working with the SHA on common files/concerns.
  4. Promoting respectful and effective working relations with employees, employers, and unions.
  5. Ensuring safe work practices, including facilitating/monitoring staff education/training.
  6. Organize and complete the day-to-day HR and LR operations. Including our CBAs (SEIU, SUN, OOS).
  7. Participate in labour force planning and monitoring.
  8. Lead the OH&S teams and functions at all three sites.
Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications

A university degree in law, labour relations, human resources management, or a related field

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of labour relations and CBA interpretation work.

Experience working within the Saskatchewan health care system would be considered an asset

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Computer skills and working knowledge of current software programs (e.g. Microsoft Office)
