Human Resources Manager

Position Summary
The Human Resources Manager supports various locations within their assigned area by engaging with leaders and team members and acting as a trusted business partner. This role will be involved in projects that touch all aspects of HR such as interpreting policies and procedures, managing employee relations, benefit administration, hourly recruiting, performance management, conducting new hire orientations and training. Strong previous HR Generalist experience is crucial for this position
More specifically, this position will be responsible for activities including but not limited to the following:
- Develops a deep understanding and passion for Dexter mission, business objectives and support key business initiatives.
- Generalist scope of responsibilities to include: Employee Relations, leaves of absence, coordinate site efforts such as benefit open enrollment, engagement survey, and other company initiatives.
- Act as an HR advisor to their site leaders and employees to build relationships, provide coaching, counseling, and support as needed.
- Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Overall responsibility for developing HR Policies and Procedures, day-to-day matters among distribution center sites, HR-related investigations.
- Create and deliver employee engagement and retention programs.
- Frequently engages with employees to build a positive rapport and transparent work environment.
- Gather and use data to drive business decisions and initiatives.
- Maintain a pulse on the business and understand HR’s part in supporting the business.
- Able to be onsite and periodically travel to supporting locations - approx. 20%
Requires Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Human Resources Management, or a comparable discipline and at least 5 years related experience, including at least 3 years human resources management experience in a manufacturing environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. This position requires multi-Provence knowledge of labour/employment laws. Must be bilingual in both English and French languages (written and spoken)
