TOURISM/COMMUNITY AMBASSADOR
The Town of Petawawa is currently seeking a responsible, enthusiastic and outgoing Tourism/Community Ambassador to promote and support Town programming and tourism opportunities .
Description of Position:
Active involvement with the implementation of recreation programs, community initiatives and events for the Town
Assist with photography and videography to be used in promotional material
Teaching and introducing participants to activities including hiking, biking, kayaking, paddleboarding and other outdoor adventure based activities
Prepare program attendance lists and track attendance, feedback and usage
Review, complete and follow up on daily occurrences, daily financial reports, weekly summary reports and other related reports as required
Qualifications:
Formal studies in recreation, tourism or marketing
Current First Aid/CPR and valid driver’s license required
Able to meet physical demands of the position (lift 55+ lbs overhead)
High energy, self starter and ability to work independently and unsupervised
Keen interest and general understanding of outdoor adventure activities and experience leading and facilitating activities, as well as an interest and understanding of photography and videography
Experience working with all age groups, with a friendly, responsible, service-oriented attitude
Rate of Pay: $17.33 per hour
Term:
May 25 – June 30, 2024 (14 hours per week – weekends)
July 3 – August 30, 2024 (35 hours per week – Wednesday – Sunday, 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.)
