We're best known for co-developing numerous AAA FPS games, though now we are creating compelling new games of our own. We're always on the lookout for amazing talent to join our team.As a Lead Lighting Artist at Certain Affinity, you’ll be instrumental in guiding the vision for one of our co-development projects. You’ll put your skill, talent, and experience to use supporting the mood, gameplay, and artistic vision on a high-profile AAA game by collaborating with other leaders across disciplines.ResponsibilitiesWork with the art director, partner, and design team to bring color and life to a highly immersive worldLead and mentor a team of lighting artists and drive the visual style/quality bar for lighting across our projects.Communicate plans and goals for lighting visually to coordinate with stakeholders across the projectUse your knowledge of advancing technology and tools to continually improve lighting pipelines and improve team efficiencyScope out deliverables, schedule, and manage expectations for the lighting teamProactively create content that is performant and leaves overhead for other stakeholdersUse your skills with atmospheric effects, practical sources, time of day, color, and cinematography to support the needs of the projectRequirements4+ years of lighting experience in the game industry2+ years of leadership experienceShipped 2+ AAA titles as a lighting artistSolid proficiency in Unreal, especially with LumenDeep understanding of PBR, lighting systems, and rendering technologyExcellent understanding of lighting pipelines and workflows as they relate to game developmentMust be able to initiate visual direction without a specific concept or designDisplays a high level of mentorship abilities and is willing to support and train other members on the teamA desire to work in and support a diverse and inclusive environmentCertain Affinity or its partners or affiliates run background checks on candidates or employees with written authorization from the candidates or employees.
