The Director of Project Management manages and co-ordinates all activities major facility expansions, major equipment and systems purchases and installations, ensuring that a quality project is produced safely, on time, and within budget.Duties and responsibilitiesLead the project scoping, site-plan, permitting, quoting, constructing, installation and commissioning process.Meet with local officials to coordinate permit approvals and ensure all proper permits are secured prior to execution of construction.Schedule job site project with completion date in mindCreate and maintain Gantt chart schedule for the entire project and adjust accordingly ensuring the project stays on schedule.Coordinate and conduct weekly meetings with all contractors to keep the deadline completion date.Schedule job site inspections in accordance with due date or follow-up with contractors if inspections are scheduled by the contractors.Manage all company hired trades.Maintain latest design on file and ensure that everything is built based on company standards.Work with the President and Chief Growing Officer to review contractor drawings and ensure greenhouse is built to company specs.In collaboration with the HRBP or H&S Coordinator, prepare the job site H&S plan.Maintain all documentation for H&S requirements.Ensure a safe work environment and that company and statutory hygiene, housekeeping and safety policies and procedures are consistently complied with.Ensure all contractors are abiding by all H&S standards.Conduct regular, periodic meetings with the H&S committee.Review and approve payment of incoming invoices.Review and maintain all project budgets.Meet regularly with the President/CFO or both, to ensure project remain on budget.Other core expectations as defined by the company.Requirements and SkillsPost secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Management, or other equivalent construction/trade background preferred.Demonstrated experience as a greenhouse Project Manager, preferred.Problem solving and critical thinking skills.Analytical thinker: able to use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of the organization; Spanish speaking is an asset.Commitment to high professional and ethical standards.Must be an influential leader with a collaborative management style and ability to motivate others.Must possess the drive and energy to fit into a fast-paced, high-growth culture with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly and meet deadlines.Strong organizational and time management abilities that allow projects and goals to be completed on time.Proficiency in MS Office, (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
