As a result of recent growth, we are seeking an Event Manager. The Event Manager is responsible for planning and executing company events in alignment with OpsGuru’s business objectives. We strive to be the most strategic and inventive event marketing team in the industry. If executed well, our events will transform how prospects and clients perceive our brand, and drive pipeline.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute external in-person and digital event strategy that positions OpsGuru as the market leader that drive engagement and opportunities for sales across North America.
  • Research and source venues that deliver a ‘wow’ for customers and are on-brand
  • Source, negotiate, coordinate and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and venues.
  • Negotiate contracts with outside caterers, suppliers and venues.
  • Plan and execute the logistics of our in-person events, such as invitations, registrations, check-ins, catering, entertainment, etc.
  • Webinar coordination, including driving event registration, planning meetings, rehearsals, prep sessions, creation of run sheets, liaison with webcast providers, and technical and live webcast support.
  • Work cross-functionally in collaboration with our sales, customer success and product teams and other stakeholders to develop memorable, unique client events and experiences (in-person and virtual)
  • Assist with pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs with sales and other internal teams.
  • Coordinate touchpoints with all stakeholders involved, including large and intimate groups of people from all levels of the organization.
  • Collaborating with all internal departments to ensure that digital marketing material/content copy is submitted, produced, proofed and delivered according to set schedule
  • Coordinate all required printing, signage, etc., as needed for each event
  • Coordinate onsite staff to ensure smooth logistical execution
  • Track data on overall event objectives and impact (ROI), attendance/traffic, qualified leads and post-event conversion from the sales team
  • Knowledge of technology platforms and event tools and the ability to learn new software (e.g. Zoom, Google Video, Budget Management tools, etc.)
  • Up to date on industry trends with an eye for implementing new ideas/experiences and improving the event management process.
  • Willingness to provide onsite event management and support, including up to 20% travel annually. The team meets weekly in Downtown Toronto.

Skills & Qualifications

  • 4+ years’ proven experience in event planning and coordination, with strong organizational skills
  • Education: University degree, preferably in Business or Marketing and Communications (an Event or Project Management Certificate is an asset)
  • Strong leadership, communication, logic, innovation, and collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and various internal teams
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of event planning software and tools
  • Knowledge of technology platforms and tools for virtual events and the ability to learn new software for web conferencing (e.g. Zoom, Google Video, Swoogo, etc.)
  • Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in hospitality management, event planning, or a related field (preferred but not required)
