Clinical Supervisor

Reports To : Director of Education and Early Intervention Full Time 1.0 FTE – 37.5 hours per week – 12 months
The Primary role of the Clinical Supervisor is working collaboratively with members of ECS classrooms and clinical teams provides advice, guidance, training, and supervision to members of the therapy team.
The Clinical Supervisor is responsible for supervising and guiding the clinical direction of the therapy team within Foothills Creative Beginnings, working collaboratively with the Early Intervention team to support agency objectives, and provide support to therapists and therapy aides.
Responsibilities- Act as supervisor to the multidisciplinary therapy team.
- Consult and build capacity within the therapy team, providing necessary coaching and support related to documentation, caseload management, exceptional situations and goals.
- Work with the leadership team to ensure effective and consistent onboarding, training, and support for therapy team members.
- Provide guidance on the clinical direction within FCB programs based on current research, recognized best practices, and Alberta Education requirements.
- Participate in performance management for therapists and therapy aides.
- Provide education and training to FCB staff.
- Design and implement a training program for therapy aides.
- Work with the team to address any concerns and improve processes and procedures.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of the requirements and bylaws of Provincial Regulatory Bodies for SLPs and OTs
- Conducts assessments as needed, including formal and informal assessment of skills and progress.
- Creates a positive learning environment for children and staff.
- Develops recommendations for children including continuation of treatment and recommendations for intervention services.
- Demonstrates evidence based clinical skills and a commitment to professional learning.
- Meets regularly with all direct reports to monitor the clinical therapy component of the ECS program and provide support to achieve success.
- Address performance issues in a timely manner. Including annual reviews and performance evaluations.
- Support the therapy team in creating developmentally appropriate IPP goals and strategies.
- Maintains professional growth and learning to ensure that services provided are evidence based.
- Leads the development and implementation of a professional development plan for the therapy team.
- Completion of a master’s degree in identified therapy. Preference given to speech-language pathologist candidates.
- Registered member, in good standing, of the required provincial therapy regulatory body.
- Ability to manage time as demonstrated by timely updates to working documents, prioritizing workload and meeting deadlines.
- Current Alberta driver’s license. Must have access to a personal vehicle.
- Proficiency in the English language, both written and verbal.
- A minimum of five years of successful experience working with neurodiverse, preschool aged children.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaboration skills to work effectively with community partners, families, and staff.
- Clearance from a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector check
This is an office-based position working from Foothills Creative Beginning’s NE Calgary location. This position will have flexibility to allow for some remote work. It will involve travel in Calgary and surrounding areas. This is a 1.0 FTE, 12-month position.
