Position Description

We are currently seeking a Process Engineer specialized in Utilities processes to join our client's Global Manufacturing Excellence organization under the Downstream Global Manufacturing Support Department (GMSD).

As a Process Engineer - Utilities, your primary responsibility will be to offer process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for various utilities systems. This includes providing remote and field technical advisory support, benchmarking utilities performance, and implementing initiatives to enhance process safety, optimize manufacturing costs, and increase utilities reliability.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 15 years of total Utilities unit experience (combining process engineering and operations), with at least 10 years specifically in utilities management.
  • Preferably, exposure to major equipment suppliers/package units for Utilities.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Monitor and review the performance of existing Utilities using key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure optimum operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety.
  • Issue quarterly utilities performance benchmarking reports with analysis and improvement recommendations.
  • Provide technical support to facilities in implementing improvement recommendations and closing performance gaps.
  • Conduct benchmarking workshops internally among Global Manufacturing facilities.
  • Offer remote and field technical advisory support on Utilities operation, troubleshooting, and capacity tests, issuing service reports for each support activity.
  • Propose cost optimization or process improvement initiatives in collaboration with facility engineers.
  • Conduct internal assessments on Utilities using standard references and endorse better standards for facility management.
  • Coordinate and drive Global Manufacturing and Corporate programs for Utilities in operating facilities.
  • Participate in Business Plan development and support techno-economic evaluations for capital investments in Utilities.
  • Stay informed about Utilities technology developments and facilitate field deployment.
  • Arrange technical knowledge exchange workshops with major equipment suppliers and participate in hazard operability (HAZOP) and safety integrity level (SIL) studies as required.
