As the Commissionaires approach their 100th anniversary in 2025, this is a pivotal moment to lead a respected, not-for-profit organization with a powerful social mission—providing meaningful employment for veterans of the Canadian Armed Forces, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, their families, and others dedicated to serving the security and well-being of Canadians.
With a strong foundation as the leading provider of physical security services in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, the Commissionaires are committed to diversity, excellence, and social impact.
Reporting to the Board of Governors, you will oversee the strategic plan, drive business development, and steer financial management of a $28 million budget, and 900 employees.
Delivering on the social mandate by defining and executing the veteran strategy, establishing initiatives to recruit and retain military veterans, driving veteran support programs, and collaborating with veteran-focused organizations.
Identifying short and long-term strategies in collaboration with the Board to modernize the social mandate.
Empowering and aligning the Senior Leadership Team in developing and maintaining an operational plan that achieves strategic goals and objectives.
Building strategic partnerships at the executive level to identify competitive advantages and unlock new business avenues.
Advising and collaborating with the Board to ensure alignment with governance best practices.
Post-secondary education combined with at least 10 years of executive-level experience.
Understanding of the exigencies and unique challenges faced by military and RCMP communities; direct professional experience in these environments is a major asset.
Proven thought leadership with the ability to drive strategic initiatives, influence policy, and advocate for the needs of military and RCMP communities.
Proven strategic experience across the full planning cycle, demonstrating a strong track record of commitment and clear vision
Strong understanding of nonprofit governance, board relations, and regulatory compliance.
Strong ability to develop business relationships at the executive level.
Competence in both English and French is an asset.
Experience reporting to a Board of Directors is an asset.
Must be eligible for a Level 2 security clearance under Public Safety Canada's guidelines, with the ability to meet the Key Security Objectives (KSO) as part of the clearance process.
This role offers a unique combination of strategic leadership, business growth, and social responsibility, allowing you to drive innovation, foster high-performance teams, and build lasting partnerships.
If you are a results-oriented executive with a passion for making a difference, this position provides a fulfilling and rewarding challenge. Join a dedicated team committed to excellence, service, and community impact.
