Our client, a very successful law firm, is currently seeking a Senior Financial Business Analyst (FP&A) for their finance team This is a hybrid role in the downtown core (2 days in office).

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Analysis , the Senior Financial Business Analyst (FP&A) will provide financial reporting, forecasting, financial modeling, and financial analysis in evaluating the firm’s financial performance, and other data to support decision-making across the partnership with a view to positively impacting results.

Snapshot of the Role:

  • Timely and accurate collection, preparation, and analysis of data for financial reporting.
  • Analyzing and interpreting large volumes of data from financial systems to facilitate management reporting.
  • Developing financial models and forecasting to measure and report on KPI’s.
  • Preparation of written reports and presentations summarizing financial performance and providing insights to internal stakeholders, including senior management.
  • Conducting trend analysis and industry benchmarking to prepare monthly executive presentations.
  • Participating in BI projects to consolidate data and create BI reports and dashboards.
  • Strengthening relationships within finance and various stakeholders with regular communication and effective feedback.

Your Key Qualifications:

  • University Degree in business, commerce, finance, or accounting.
  • CPA designation an asset.
  • 4+ years of experience in an FP&A/SFA role. Preference will be given to candidates who are currently working in the legal sector or in the finance group of a professional services firm.
  • Analytical mindset, exceptional modelling skills, deadline driven and strong attention to detail.
  • VBA Macros, SQL query tools, and Power BI advanced skills.
  • Excellent analytical, problem recognition and problem-solving skills.
  • Know your audience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present results to various levels of leadership.
