Job Title: Senior Analyst, Investment BankingLocation: Downtown Toronto - Financial DistrictIn-office: 5 days/week with flexibilityReports To: Senior AssociateOverview:A growing investment banking advisory firm is seeking to hire a Senior Analyst to join its team in Toronto as it looks to grow its advisory business. The firm provides a range of advisory services to clients across a wide array of industries in Canada, including buy-side M&A advisory, sell-side M&A advisory, capital-raising, business consulting, and other ancillary services.The ideal candidate for this position has strong research, finance, and analytical capabilities, exceptional knowledge of working with MS Office products (in particular, Excel and PowerPoint), and an ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities while working on multiple deals/projects. The firm is seeking self-starter candidates that have a growth mindset and high standards.Key Responsibilities:Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain various types of operating and financial models related to valuations, mergers & acquisitions, and capital-raising transactions.Market Research: Perform in-depth market, industry, and company research, and comprehensively present the research findings.Valuations: Perform company valuations using various common methods, including comparable companies, precedent transactions, DCF, and LBO analysis.Marketing Materials: Help with the preparation of marketing and other materials for clients and prospects, including pitchbooks, confidential information memorandums, teaser decks, and management presentations.Client Interaction: Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing clients, providing analytical support and contributing to discussions.Process Management: Coordinate and track information requests, manage virtual data rooms, and coordinate due diligence efforts.Internal Organization: Maintain and update internal databases and other resources.Qualifications:Experience: 2-3 years in investment banking, corporate finance, or a related field.Education:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related discipline with exceptional academic results.Enrollment in the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and/or the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) program desired.Skills:Demonstrated aptitude in financial analysis and financial modeling, including an ability to create three-statement models.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint.Prior exposure to industry-specific databases (e.g., CapitalIQ, PitchBook, GF Data, Bloomberg, etc.).Technologically savvy, including awareness of the latest available tools to drive efficiency in our business, including artificial intelligence.Attributes:Self-starter with a proactive approach to tasks and communicating with the team.Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-based environment with strong organization skills and ability to adapt to changing and competing priorities.Approaches challenges with a positive attitude.Client-focused with a commitment to service excellence.Strong work ethic and attention to detail.Eager to learn and grow within the organization.
