Responsibilities:1. Key ElementsDevelop and manage KPI'sthat speak to the following:ServiceMissed opportunityGrowthProfitabilityImplement operational process improvementsExecute and provide updateson key projects and objectivesSecond point of escalation for customers, carriersand staffLead the following initiates: hiring, staff recognition, annual reviews, addressing disciplinary issues up to and including terminationsOrganize and take part in professional development opportunitiesEnsure supervisory staff are educating, training,and managing front-lineoperational staff2. Developing CapacityBuild carrier base and pipeline in relation to business needs and opportunitiesAnalysis carrier needs and develop system that allows logistic team to capitalize on such knowledgeDiversify with other Modes3. Staff ManagementConduct performance appraisals and review pay adjustments. Provides measurable feedback to assigned personnel and suggestions for improvedperformance. Formulates and implements employee corrective actions as needed.Manage and delegate tasksbased on roles,responsibilities and workloadDevelop and train staff so that day to day logistics are executed as perSOP (service, compliance, administration, etc)Supervisory responsibilities include, but are not limited to recommendinghiring, coaching, skills development, recognition and rewards, staff productivity and performance management.Responsible for scheduling vacations and time off per policy with the least amount of disruption to the department to meet customerneeds.Initiates positivemethods of drivingteam-mate excellence throughfollow up, providing consistent and fair feedback on performance. Takes action through coaching and counselling to correct behaviors.Communicate and involve staff in resultsof business analysisand opportunities for improvement as well as opportunities for growthAlign staff objectives with Company objectives. Utilize management/communication tools such as job profilesand performance evaluations.Skills & AbilitiesMinimum of 4 years’ transportation / logistics experience.Minimum of 2 years’ supervisory experience.Demonstrated leadership experience with teams.Strong interpersonal skills including leadership, conflict resolution and team building abilities.Dedicated to continuous improvement.Proven analytical and problem solving skills. Ability to quickly understand and identify issues and propose solutions.Proven ability to effectively prioritize work flow to ensure deadlines are met in a fast-paced environment.Takes initiative, is proactive in their work, and results-oriented.Ability to manage and adapt to change.Bilingual – French / English – additional language skills very beneficial.
