The program’s mission is to foster a diverse and thriving workforce in Newfoundland and Labrador by providing free, tailored support services to newcomers, employers, and recruiters across the province.This role is ideal for a dynamic and adaptable individual who excels at creatively building and maintaining relationships with employers, recruiters, and community partners.Key Responsibilities:Help develop and implement strategic and innovative plans to engage employers and recruiters, connecting them with qualified participants to achieve program objectives and ensure seamless job placements.Work closely with team members to align strategies and activities for maximum impact.Develop and nurture relationships with employers across multiple sectors throughout NL.Creatively pitch program participants to employers, highlighting the unique skills and contributions newcomers bring to the workforce.Collaborate with recruiters and community partners to enhance job placement opportunities for participants.Engage employers and partners through platforms such as LinkedIn, networking events, and follow-up communications, fostering meaningful and long-lasting collaborations.Identify skills gaps, training needs, and tools necessary for employers to hire and retain workers effectively.Support the coordination of the National Connector Program, managing the intake of new connectors and matching connectees with appropriate industry leaders to expand their networks.Provide comprehensive support to employers during recruitment, hiring, and post-placement processes, ensuring a smooth integration for both employers and participants.Help plan and host program events, such as workshops, presentations, roundtables and networking opportunities, to enhance the program’s visibility and connect employers with talent.Participate in community events to engage participants, employers, recruiters, and community partners effectively.Qualifications:The Employer Relationship Coordinator will be an energetic, proactive individual with extensive experience in business development, recruitment, or sales and a deep understanding of the needs of employers, recruiters, and community stakeholders in Newfoundland and Labrador. The ability to think creatively and adapt to changing needs is essential, as well as strong multitasking and prioritization skills.A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Community Development, Communications, or a related field is required. A Master’s degree would be an asset.Proven experience in building networks and managing relationships with employers, recruiters, community partners, and other key stakeholders.Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and implementation, particularly in employer engagement and partnership development.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.Knowledge of or strong interest in learning about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) practices and immigration.Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive).Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software, such as HubSpot, or a strong interest in learning to use these tools.The successful candidate should be adaptable and open to cross-training with the Employer Engagement Coordinator, allowing for collaboration and flexibility as the program and needs evolve.The position also requires a clear Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RNC or RCMP, a valid driver’s license, and the use of a private vehicle for work purposes.Starting Salary: $66,250 - placement on the salary scale is commensurate with education and experience.This is a Full-time, Permanent positionBenefits:Disability insuranceDiscounted or free foodSchedule:8 hour shiftMonday to FridayWork Location: In personApplication deadline: 2024-09-24
