We also offer a $400 Boot Allowance every two years to ensure employees have access to CSA approved safety boots.OUR OPPORTUNITYGovan Brown is looking for a proactive IT Technical Support to join the Toronto team. Reporting to the Regional IT Manager, you will be responsible for providing technical support to maintain the company’s computer hardware and software as well as other peripheral equipment and systems. As the IT Technical Support, you will also play an important role in the onboarding and offboarding employees, and the movement of IT assets within and between offices and project sites. Ideally, the IT Technical Support, who is equally passionate about technology and customer service, would leverage troubleshooting and critical thinking skills to ensure computer systems and equipment are operating at optimal performance so employees can maintain a high level of productivity. Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:Install, maintain and update laptop, mobile devices and other equipment, and perform necessary repairs.Perform new hire onboarding (ex. setting up new active directory user account and equipment) and offboarding processes (ex. archiving emails and files, setting up email and call forwarding).Provide technical support for hardware, software and network access, including troubleshooting of meeting room audio and visual equipment, VPN access for remote users, WiFi, etc. Track internal IT asset inventory and assist with moves, additions, changes and decommission of computer equipment. Proactively maintain and update anti-virus and security software/apps on computers and mobile devices including identifying and removing security threats (running system scans for phishing emails malicious activity, etc.). Provide frequent status updates on service request and issues resolution to management and team members. Create and update documentation for IT processes, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs to aid in resolving common issues efficiently and promoting self-service among users. Provide technical support for our offices and sites across Canada.Open and close helpdesk tickets in accordance to established technical support SLAs.Collaborate with global IT Desktop team on special projects and meetings. Comply to internal IT policies and procedures.Participate in emergency situations to minimize system downtime for users (such as power outages, internet outages, natural disasters, etc.) as part of the company IT Disaster Recovery Team.Act as the main point of contact for users experiencing technological issues. WHAT YOU BRINGPost Secondary education in Network Administration, Computer Science or related field. 1 to 3 years of technical support experience in small to medium sized businesses. Knowledge of Windows Operating System, MS Office Suite, Adobe, security software, computer imaging systems and Apple devices.Confident and professional written and oral communication skills.Ability to remotely support a multi-site environment. Self-motivated with the ability to take initiative and work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, handling competing demands and changing priorities.Service-focused mindset to assist users with various IT needs and challenges, and to resolve complex issues. Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction as well as collaboratively with a team. Positive spirit with a “get ‘er done” attitude.YOUR WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENTOffice location is 108 Vine Avenue, Toronto. This is not a hybrid or remote role.Requires off-hour incident response and work flexible hours.
