Here, it’s about creating insightful work that helps brands play a meaningful role in people’s lives, whether that’s moving an audience to take action or simply making them laugh.As our shiny new Senior Art Director, you’ve got ‘the eye’ – a level of taste only a lucky few were born with. You know what’s trending in and around pop culture. And you’re always on the hunt for a fresher take. But it’s not all looks – you’ve got the ideas to match. You know, the ones that make people go “I wish I’d thought of that”.What you will do:Think big: Envision and facilitate the development of fully integrated advertising, branding, digital, social and content projects by providing ideas and visual concepts that are compelling and on-brand.Pay attention: Regularly attend and participate fully in briefs, product group meetings and client presentations; attend client briefs and research as needed.Play as a team: Collaborate fully with Copywriters, Designers and Production partners to translate marketing strategies into innovative, viable, and benefit-oriented creative concepts brilliantly.Protect the work: Present concepts to clients for discussion and approval in a compelling and authoritative manner to sell your ideas.Make stuff: Execute creative concepts for multiple mediums including broadcast, digital, print and activation by incorporating fresh and contemporary design solutions while maintaining established brand identity & program objectives. Oversee visual work consistently throughout a project to ensure it is cohesive and adheres to brand guidelines.Inspire: Oversee the work of junior designers, or other contributors, on your projects to ensure it is executed brilliantly.You’ve got the goods:6+ Years of agency or commercial design studio experience in art directionA portfolio demonstrating exceptional creativity and the ability to craft ideas (Note: Please include a link to your portfolio in your resume)Experience with standard industry design software - specifically Adobe SuiteExperience in art direction of film and photography productions and post-productionsB.A. Degree or Diploma in Design or Visual Arts program, an assetThe CompanyMcCann Worldgroup Canada is committed to a diverse workforce as an Employment Equity employer (Women, People with Disabilities, Aboriginal Peoples, and Visible Minorities) and aims to maintain an inclusive and equitable workplace where employees feel valued, respected, and supported.
