Contract Duration: 6 months (initial contract)

Hybrid: 3 days per week in office

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a Proof of Concept (PoC) for a new Order Management System (OMS) implementation with one of our leading capital markets/investments clients. This is a contract opportunity with an initial duration of 6 months, based in downtown Toronto.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the PoC for the new OMS implementation, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across various departments to gather requirements and define project scope.
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings, providing updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.

Qualifications:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial instruments such as equities, bonds, derivatives (options, futures, swaps), FX, and other structured products.
  • Familiarity with trading platforms, execution systems, algorithmic trading, market data feeds, and order management systems (OMS) or execution management systems (EMS).
  • Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager, with a strong background in capital markets.
  • Demonstrated success in leading complex projects, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification is preferred.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
