Facilities Engineer

Company Overview: Brunel is currently partnered with a leading oil and gas company, hiring a Facilities Engineer on a 12 month contract, to support their operations in Northern British Columbia. This role will be a combination of office-based work from the Calgary office, and field-based work at the facility in Northern British Columbia.Responsibilities:Uphold a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies.Maintain a thorough understanding of plant operations and safety protocols.Independently establish and prioritize tasks to optimize facility performance and uptime.Adapt to changing priorities and evolving information, demonstrating flexibility and resilience.Collaborate effectively with team members and management to achieve project objectives.Utilize strong organizational skills to manage projects through the Management of Change (MOC) and Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) processes.Scope projects for engineering development, ensuring alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.Coordinate with engineering teams to define Engineering Design Document Requirements (EDDR) and obtain cost estimates.Manage procurement processes, including issuing purchase orders and managing accruals.Maintain accurate documentation and utilize document control systems effectively.Engage and manage third-party Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) resources as needed for facility projects.Monitor project budgets and commitments, identifying opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.Minimize Change Orders by effectively scoping projects and implementing robust request for proposal (RFP) processes.Coordinate owner reviews for project documentation and ensure timely issuance of Issued for Review (IFR) documents.Maintain project schedules and prioritize tasks to meet operational requirements.Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering.Minimum of 3 years of experience in facilities engineering or related roles within the oil and gas industry.Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations and best practices, with a focus on facility operations.Proficiency in project management tools and software, with the ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.Familiarity with engineering design processes and documentation requirements.Demonstrated experience in budget management and cost control.
