They will lead the outbound & inbound selling, client relationship building & maintenance, client database upkeep, and event coordination of medium to large celebrations at their designated venue/s. They will be handling all events related guest inquiries and will be the point-of-contact for all client event details. The SALES & EVENTS MANAGER is responsible to maintain a high conversation rate across their inquiries, conduct both inbound and outbound activities to drive event sales for the company, to overseeing the collective & exceptional coordination of all of their client events, and to build strong, positive relationships across Scale’s internal culinary/bev/operations/marketing teams that they will interact with daily as part of their event coordination. In return, we offer a competitive base salary as well as commissions on sales, discounts across our many restaurants & bars as well as other benefits & perks (details below), and a fun and energetic working environmentRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:New Lead GenerationOutbound phone and email outreach to new, prospective corporate clients as well as event/wedding bookers to drive fresh business into Scale Research and involvement in key networking events, festivals, exhibitions, and other external activities that Scale Events & Sales teams should be a part of Planning & hosting of quarterly FAM trips and venue showcases to drive in new bookings and event client relationshipsWork closely with Marketing team to initiate and co-plan new promotions and initiatives, existing sales/event marketing tool improvements and more that will contribute to your new business developmentStrategic PlanningOversee sales for all mid-sized and large events including: corporate, media events, and buyouts including weddingsDevelop and manage client network, sell and prepare sales contracts, and manage event executionMaintain a high closing (aka conversion) rate across event inquiriesAssess the client’s requirements and understand their expectations to ensure they are satisfied with service deliveredNegotiate and prepare event contracts for clients, and communicate with team to confirm event detailsCommunication and Customer Relationship ManagementManage large party eventsDevelop, maintain and grow target client list for potential clientsPerform sales cold calls as well as follow-up calls to clients and potential clients to meet targetsBuild and maintain strong customer relationships to ensure high quality event productionRespond to client inquiries, including sales quotes, menu options, set up detailsLiaise with suppliers and other clientsEvents CoordinationOversee event planning and execution once events are confirmedGreet client, ensuring the specifics of the event details are favourable, making applicable changesManage and overcome obstacles with clients for successful eventsWork closely with the venue General Manager to plan, coordinate, and execute eventsReporting & VP SupportReport regularly at weekly, monthly, and quarterly meetings on forecasted & confirmed sales, close rate vs inquiries received, etc.(training will be fully provided on reporting as needed)Report to and support the VP of Events as requiredQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:3-5 years of experience as a Sales and Events Manager in the Hospitality industry1-3 years of experience in Wedding Sales & Planning strongly preferredExisting database/network of event clients in the GTA area strongly preferredExtremely strong outbound sales skills and client relationship building skills requiredCollege or technical diploma nice to haveProfessional, self-motivated, and flexibleAble to work independently, as well as in a teamStrong customer service backgroundPositive outlook and 100% commitment is a mustHigh energy, dynamic, and excellent presentation skills with strong customer service focusExcellent verbal and written skillsProficient knowledge of Microsoft Office (word, excel, PowerPoint)Experience using TripleSeat an assetBe able to work outside normal business hours when situation arisesAbility to sit at a desk and do general office workWHY WORK FOR US?Competitive WagesPaid sick daysDiscounts at all Scale Hospitality Group RestaurantsCorporate Goodlife Fitness RatesFUN Team and CultureMedical/Dental Group Health BenefitsScale Hospitality Group recognizes its obligations under the Accessibility for Ontarian with Disabilities Act, 2005, and, upon request, will provide accommodation in the recruitment processes to the point of undue hardship.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentBenefits:Dental careDiscounted or free foodExtended health careLife insurancePaid time offVision careWellness programSupplemental pay types:Commission payWork Location: In person
