Paquin Entertainment Group is seeking a Vice President, Finance to join our accounting team.

Your Role


Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, the Vice President, Finance is the most senior member of the Accounting team. They are responsible for managing all accounting and finance activities of the Paquin Entertainment Group. Including cross- border subsidiaries and partnerships. The Vice President, Finance will work closely with the COO and other senior management on operational issues and strategic initiatives for the continued growth and success of the company.


What you will get to do


Corporate Division


  • Financial reporting for parent company and subsidiaries in Canada and US
  • Tax planning and filing of Canadian and US corporation income tax returns
  • Overseeing financial planning, budgeting and analysis
  • Oversight of treasury, cash management, investment accounts, and intercompany transfers
  • Designing and overseeing accounting policies, procedures and internal controls
  • Proactive, leadership role in communicating financial matters to Paquin management team, and providing advice and recommendations
  • Managing relationships with lenders, investors, and financial advisors
  • Reporting to external stakeholders, including project investors
  • Analyzing and advising on new business proposals


Exhibitions & Theatrical Division


  • Proactive business partner to President
  • Overseeing a small team of industry specialists providing planning & analysis, and financial reporting for the division and its individual projects to internal and external stakeholders
  • Design of processes, systems and tools to measure business performance, maximize efficiency, and support decision making in real time
  • Oversight of exhibition settlement process
  • Develop and maintain effective working relations with vendors and local partners.


Artist Agency Division


  • Proactive business partner to President
  • Overseeing a small team of industry specialists providing planning & analysis, and financial reporting for the division and its individual projects to internal and external stakeholders


Who you are


Competencies/Skills Knowledge/Experience/ Behaviours


  • 10 years’ experience in live entertainment, ideally with a Promoter
  • Experience in entertainment, including as a Promoter considered an asset
  • Proven experience as a Director of Finance or related role
  • CPA designation and knowledge of accounting standards
  • Team leadership
  • Demonstrated passion of communication, mentorship and growing careers
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft office is required
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks, US and Canadian corporate income tax, sales taxes, withholding tax requirements and royalty reporting required
  • Ability to strategize and solve problems
  • In depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
  • Highly self-motivated and takes ownership for personal and technical skills development.
  • Maintains good commercial awareness and understands business drivers.
  • Process driven, well organized, deadline-focused and adept at prioritizing workload.
  • Uses initiative to identify issues and create solutions.
  • Combines analytical thought with creativity to excel at problem-solving
