Sr. Director, Regulatory Trade Reporting Technology

Background:
This is an exciting, high visibility, prestigious leadership role for one of Top Canadian Banking clients, leading a dynamic product team within Capital Markets Regulatory Trade Reporting Technology, aligned closely with Business, Compliance and Operations leadership, operating in a mature scaled agile environment (10+ ART's), delivering on evolving global jurisdictions mandates, complex regulatory and compliance programs.
This would be a direct placement with the end client. 2 days a week, hybrid.
Job Summary:
The Senior Director, Trade Reporting leads the Trade Reporting Technology delivery teams within the Capital Markets Regulatory Technology department. They are responsible for shaping the Trade Reporting strategy and overseeing the implementation of an 'End-to-End' model for trade reporting with up and downstream systems partners. The successful candidate will have a strong background in technology leadership, product development, and capital markets, with a specific focus on trade reporting regulatory requirements. They will play a critical role in developing technology product roadmaps, strategies, and engaging with customers to ensure successful delivery of trade reporting solutions. The Senior Director will also be accountable for establishing and leading governance capabilities, ensuring compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures, and driving continuous improvement in trade reporting.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the strategy and delivery of Trade Reporting capability, including the implementation of an 'End-to-End' model
- Create and execute a strategic roadmap for the bank to improve the identification and response to financial crime activities
- Develop and manage partnerships framework, both internal and external
- Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures, and implement appropriate controls
- Provide leadership and effective management of business unit staff, fostering employee commitment and development
- Engage with customers to understand their trade reporting requirements and ensure successful delivery of solution
- Stay up-to-date with trade reporting regulatory requirements and ensure compliance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate trade reporting solutions into existing systems and processes
- Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
- Monitor and analyze trade reporting data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Prepare and present reports to senior management and stakeholders on trade reporting activities and performance
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7+ years of technology leadership experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience developing technology product roadmaps, strategies, and customer engagement
- Minimum of 7-10 years of capital markets experience in risk, operations, front office, or finance
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in trade reporting regulatory requirements
- Demonstrated executive presence and respect
- Strong knowledge of trade reporting regulations and industry best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are a plus
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with senior executives
- Strong relationship management and problem-solving skills
