Rewrite Capital Advisors is an M&A advisory firm dedicated to converting businesses to employee ownership. We helped negotiate and design Canada’s new Employee Ownership Trust (EOT) legislation, and are rolling it out in mid-sized companies across the country. Currently we are looking for a talented and passionate Mergers and Acquisitions Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and executing all aspects of the company's M&A advisory activities. This will include assessing feasibility, structuring and executing transactions, and supporting post-transition culture change in companies that become employee-owned. Working with us, you join the most knowledgeable business service providers in the employee ownership space, working to protect Canadian businesses and reduce wealth inequality.


Key Responsibilities

The following areas of focus will be central to your role in this position:


  • Leading feasibility studies and due diligence efforts to assess the financial and operational viability of an EOT for clients.
  • Overseeing and managing all aspects of the EOT (M&A) process from start to finish. 
  • Negotiating with FIs for debt, lawyers for structure, accountants for reporting on EOT transactions.
  • Leading clients through the transaction process, including offering counsel, managing expectations, collecting information, and coaching them.
  • Making clients feel comfortable, clear, assured, and respected throughout the process.
  • Developing a team of junior staff to become deal leaders and managers.
  • Developing and iteratively improving the company’s process and services.


Qualifications and Skills

The ideal candidate for this position will possess the following attributes:


  • Proven track record of successfully executing mergers and acquisitions.
  • Extensive knowledge of the M&A process, including due diligence, valuation, and negotiation.
  • 4+ years of experience in mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, private equity, or a related field.
  • Financial qualifications such as CPA, CFA, or similar preferred.
  • Team player, loves to help others.
  • Great communicator, clear and empathetic.
  • Responsible, takes ownership.
  • Attention to detail, likes things to be in their place.
