POSITION DESCRIPTION:
the Jazz Drummondville residence has the pleasure of welcome a golden clientele, autonomous or losing autonomy. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere where we feel at home. It is the opportunity to be recognized, valued, to participate in the continuous improvement of the service and to make a significant difference in the daily lives of elderly people We are currently looking for a talented Practical Nurse who cares about the health of residents.
Permanent full-time position, 7/15, days and evenings and weekends as needed.
ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Adhere to standards and regulations in accordance with private seniors' home certification and employer policies
- Administer medication in accordance with safety principles and the codes of ethics
- Assist in evaluating and adjusting therapeutic nursing plans (TNPs) for residents requiring special clinical care
- Create and maintain metuculous notes in related Dossiers in accordance with the requirements of the Ordre des Infirmiers et Infirmières du Québec (OIIQ)
- Ensure good communication as well as medical follow-ups with the vested parties
- Help maintain the relationship of trust with residents' family and friends as well as with various stakeholders (CLSC, CSSS, etc.)
- Identify and transmit the needs of the service department
- Promote and advocate for proactive care among residents
- Provide healthcare and wellness services to maintain and restore residents health and to help prevent illness
- Respond to all emergency situations
- Take part in the clinical assessments of residents and update treatment plans according to their specific needs
- Upon request by the residents doctor or pharmacist, update the residents medical dossiers and prescriptions
- Collect degree in nursing (DEC) or a proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in health care assistance, nursing
- Basic computer skills
- Knowledge of retirement homes, a major asset
- Good sense of interpersonal communication
- Geriatric experience, an asset
- A minimum of 1 to 2 years experience
- Member of the OIIAQ or the or OIIQ
- Up to date CPR / AED training certificates
