We are seeking a Fire Fighter Relations Consultant to join our organization and make a difference in the neuromuscular community by bridging connections between Muscular Dystrophy Canada and Fire Departments across the country. 

With a key focus on recruitment and engagement, the Fire Fighter Relations Consultant aims to strengthen the bond between Fire Fighters, donors, staff, volunteers, and clients.


Role Responsibilities:


  • Identify and secure new partnership opportunities between MDC and the Fire Fighter Service
  • Work in collaboration to develop and achieve revenue targets
  • Advise on ways to maintain and grow existing Fire Fighter support and activities
  • Deepen relationships with Fire Fighters (paid and volunteer) and work with Departments to identify succession planning opportunities
  • Manage relationships with key volunteers and engage them in the identification, cultivation, and stewardship of new prospects
  • Identify potential sponsors to augment revenue streams related to Fire Fighter activities
  • Represent MDC at external speaking opportunities
  • Liaise with International Associate of Fire Fighters (IAFF) to grow local support, and attend conferences on behalf of MDC
  • Work to strengthen relationships with National Fire Fighter Relations Committee (NFFRC) members, Provincial Chiefs, MDC Chairs
  • Liaise with all levels of Fire Fighters across Canada including career, volunteer and/or paid on call
  • Work with CEO to recommend Fire Fighter representation at the Board level


Candidate Qualifications:


  • Must be an IAFF member, Fire Fighter in a leadership role, Fire Fighter in a non leadership role and/or retired Fire Fighter
  • Existing and/or previous experience working with MDC considered an asset
