Technical Project Manager


Apex Systems is a global IT services provider, and our staffing practice has an opening for a Tech Project Manager with role with 5+ yrs in Project management experience background leading projects in retail or construction, and a history using Jira to place at our client, a major international retailer.


Client: Major International Retailer


Terms: 6 Month Contract, potential extensions


Location: Hybrid 2 days/week – Mississauga


Job Description:


The Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing day-to-day project activities of complex projects for our Technology solutions. You will work closely with technical teams, business- and third-party stakeholders to manage expectations related to the project scope and timeline constraints. You are accountable for the overall delivery of Relay and Refresh projects for Store Operations. The successful candidate will also work with various levels of the organization to ensure project control procedures and policies are adhered to as per technology’s project performance standards.


Responsibilities:


  • Project Management – Outline project goals, terms of reference, resource requirements, and costs. Help create a resource plan that ensures all stakeholders have a voice on the project. Assess the efficiency of the practices and procedures used by a team and provide guidance that will continuously improve the project plan.
  • Collaboration – Help internal partners make informed decisions about the development of programs, products, and services. Work closely with teams as you work toward a common goal and negotiate deliverables and milestones whenever necessary.
  • Project Coordination – Proactively identify anything that will take projects off schedule and find solutions to correct the problem. Monitor milestones, and ensure they’re completed according to timelines and budgets. Execute a project plan that is personalized for your team’s preferred mix of quality, time, and cost.
  • Customer Engagement - You put our customers first. You engage with purpose, to find the right solutions. You go the extra mile because it's the right thing to do.
  • Relationship Building: Grow your network, deepen existing relationships, and collaborate with others to ensure clients are connected to the right people and opportunities.

Key Qualifications:

  • PMP designation
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • 2+ years managing complex enterprise networking and infrastructure projects using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies
  • Must demonstrate good organizational and time management skills with the ability to self-manage
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently
  • Experience with Jira
  • Retail or Construction industry experience preferred
