Hours: Mon-Fri, 9 am-5 pm or 11 am-7 pm (must be flexible for both shifts)

Pay Rate: $28.00/hour + 4% vacation pay

Location: Hybrid, 2-3 days onsite per week – Toronto, ON


Job Description:

As a Bilingual Risk Rating Specialist, you’ll be key in assessing and managing financial risk ratings for a diverse portfolio of privately held companies. Using a combination of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), notes to financial statements, and established guidelines, you'll analyze economic data and generate accurate Borrower Risk Ratings (BRRs). This is a fantastic opportunity for bilingual professionals with a finance or accounting background to apply their expertise in a dynamic, collaborative, and positive work environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Extract values from Balance Sheets, Income Statements, and Statements of Cash Flow from privately held companies' financial statements, accurately inputting them into the Risk Rating model.
  • Generate Borrower Risk Rating (BRR) calculations for various requests based on provided financial data.
  • Make adjustments to financial statements as needed, creating revised financial statements and recalculating BRR ratings.
  • Understand and apply eliminations for intercompany transactions to consolidate financial statements across multiple entities.
  • Support the Manager, Risk Rating, in additional tasks as required.
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative, and engaging work environment.


Job Requirements:

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting various types of financial statements (company-prepared, notice to reader, review engagement, and audited).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment, maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual in French (fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and understanding).
  • Experience in finance or accounting is required.


Education:

  • Minimum of a post-secondary education with a degree in Commerce or Business Administration.
  • Specialization in accounting or finance is strongly preferred.
