What you’ll do:

  • You will support one or more of our functions/departments with a large employee population

  • The incumbent will provide direct support senior leaders of the assigned functions/departments

  • Build a segment/market business plan that will deliver the people and business priorities of growth and performance

  • Drives the HR strategy, translating priorities into an action plan that is tied to the overall strategic direction and aligned with Aviva HR values, policies, objectives and culture

  • Facilitate implementation of key HR programs and initiatives for assigned function/departments, including rewards management, performance management, employee engagement survey, learning & development, etc.

  • Embed the Aviva values and culture through all initiatives. Enlists support from other HR colleagues to meet internal customer requirements.

  • Manage the relationship with the business, building credible relationships with leaders

  • You will be able to articulate what customer culture means for the company and how this translates into your function.

  • As part of any decision making process, you must consider customer interests and ensure that decisions made result in fair customer outcomes

  • Maintaining effective and efficient risk management and internal control systems, in line with agreed risk appetite. Where vital , directing action plans to resolve ineffective controls and bring associated risks within appetite including outsourced arrangements, in a timely manner.

What you’ll bring:

  • University Degree or equivalent

  • HR professional designation (e.g. SPHR, CHRP, CIPD, etc.) is preferred

  • Well-developed mentor and consulting skills, including a successful record of building personal credibility, and managing relationships with key executive decision-makers.

  • Process consulting skills and ability to draw out and take care of conflict/challenges.

  • Solid understanding of talent management, workforce planning, succession management, engagement, recruitment, and rewards

  • Eye for business including broad understanding of general insurance businesses and/or financial services industry

  • Customer focus – internal and external

  • Demonstrated record of leading and implementing strategy and transformational change

  • Ability to coach successful teams and leaders

  • Ability to understand and influence the bigger picture

  • Track record of innovation

  • 7+ years of experience demonstrating a record of leading significant HR interventions (from initial diagnostic phase through to delivery) which contribute to business success

  • Experience as part of an HR (or other) leadership team, in setting the strategic direction of a medium to large sophisticated operational / service organization.

  • Experience operating within a matrixed, multi-site environment

  • Broad HR experience across a variety of businesses and preferably across different industries and geographies

  • Experience working in a large domestic or global organization

  • Insurance and/or Financial Services industry expertise preferred.
