We are seeking a Desktop Support Technician to provide technical assistance and support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems and hardware. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting skills, experience with Windows (10/11) /macOS environments, and excellent customer service abilities.

Work Location: Winnipeg, Manitoba. (5 days in office)

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support:


• Install, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.


• Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.


• Provide support for Microsoft 365, email, VPN, and enterprise applications.


• Assist with user account management in Active Directory and other IT systems.

User Support & Training:


• Respond to help desk tickets and provide timely resolutions.


• Educate users on best practices and IT policies.


• Document solutions and maintain a knowledge base for common issues.

System Maintenance & Upgrades:


• Perform software updates, patches, and system upgrades.


• Assist in deploying new hardware and software across the organization.


• Maintain an inventory of IT assets and ensure proper documentation.

Collaboration & Security Compliance:


• Work closely with the IT team to support projects and initiatives.


• Ensure compliance with IT security policies and procedures.


• Support backup and recovery processes as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:


• Education: Associate or bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (preferred).


• Experience: 2+ years of experience in IT support or a related role.


• Technical Skills:


• Strong knowledge of Windows 10,11 /macOS operating systems.


• Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and remote desktop tools.


• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting).


• Soft Skills:


• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.


• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.


• Customer service-oriented with a proactive approach.

Preferred Certifications (Optional but a Plus):


• CompTIA A+


• Microsoft Modern Desktop Administrator (MD-100/MD-101)


• ITIL Foundation Certification

Work Conditions:


• Onsite role with No remote/Hybrid Options


• Ability to lift and move IT equipment when necessary.


• Availability for occasional after-hours support.
