Our client, located in Burnaby, is looking for a Finance Manager to work closely with the CFO to help an organization sophisticate and modernize their accounting team. The Finance Manager will:

  • Design and implement processes, procedures, and compliance protocols
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and guide a team of accounting clerks and junior accountants
  • Own the month end close process
  • Own the year end financial reporting and audit
  • Cash analysis
  • Inventory analysis
  • Work closely with the CFO to produce meaningful management reports, budgets, forecasts, and modelling for new products
  • Improve the reporting functions of the ERP system


The CFO is an engaged, energetic individual looking for someone who can be a partner in a process of transformation, learn the ropes, and quickly elevate the a Controller level position. As the ideal candidate, you bring:

  • A CPA designation, ideally obtained through the audit stream of a public practice firm
  • Exposure to the nuances of inventory would be ideal
  • The confidence to teach, coach, and guide a team of junior accountants
  • The willingness to learn
  • The foresight to see this as an excellent opportunity to fast-track your career


As it stands for the moment, this is a full-time, in office role offering a competitive salary and benefit plan, good vacation allotment, and little-to-no overtime. As the accounting processes modernize, the opportunity for a more flexible working model will likely be available.
