Job Title: Simulation Specialist - Avionics

Location: Laval

Type: Permanent

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Model Development and Enhancement:
  • Prototype and refine models for diverse aircraft systems.
  • Conduct simulation and analysis to ensure precise representation of aircraft behavior.
  1. Formulating and Validating Requirements:
  • Develop and validate requirements in line with aircraft certification goals.
  1. Designing Simulation Framework:
  • Lead the development of simulation framework features and innovate new functionalities.
  • Integrate new models into the simulation engine using various methodologies.
  1. Avionics and Software Proficiency:
  • Attain comprehensive knowledge of the aircraft's avionics, software architecture, and GNC algorithms.
  1. Tool Development:
  • Create software tools utilizing MATLAB, adhering to industry best practices.
  1. Testing Support:
  • Provide assistance for SIL, HIL, and flight test activities.
  • Identify and resolve anomalies to ensure testing success.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Aeronautical/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience.

Experience in:

  • Modeling and simulating aircraft systems for at least 5 years.
  • Developing 6-DoF simulation models.
  • MATLAB programming and Simulink modeling.
  • Designing physics-based aviation models.
  • Developing and validating aerodynamic databases.
  • Familiarity with aircraft sensors and aerodynamics.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with flight simulator design and certification.
  • Proficiency in interpolation methods and response surface development.
  • Knowledge of Subpart B certification rules.
  • Experience with control system certification using simulation.
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Design tools.
  • Proficiency in Simscape and Monte Carlo simulation.
  • Understanding of state estimation and control theory.
