The Human Resources Advisor will provide expert HR guidance and support to employees and managers, ensuring compliance with HR policies, laws, and regulations. This role involves managing employee relations, performance management, and HR projects while maintaining HR records and fostering a positive work environment.


Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Offer HR advice and support to employees within assigned groups, promoting best practices and ensuring compliance with policies and legislation.
  • Support managers in recruitment, retention, succession planning, talent management, employee engagement, and training and development.
  • Collaborate with HR team members on a variety of HR projects.
  • Deliver HR services and provide expertise, ensuring smooth integration of corporate HR initiatives, including employment law, compliance, employee relations, benefits, performance management, and HRIS data integrity.
  • Handle employee relations matters, including workplace investigations, performance improvement plans, and other corrective actions.
  • Assist with developing, designing, implementing, and evaluating learning and development initiatives such as new hire orientation and coaching.
  • Evaluate sensitive situations and provide guidance, escalating concerns to senior HR leadership as needed.
  • Coordinate the preparation of HR forms and letters related to various HR transactions.
  • Build strong relationships by delivering quality service and bringing a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Manage HRIS transactions for new hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.
  • Address payroll inquiries from managers and employees in a timely manner.
  • Perform other related duties as required to meet the needs of the organization.


Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of human resources principles, practices, laws, and regulations in Canada.
  • Attention to detail, critical-thinking skills, and a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and ability to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Self-motivated, resourceful, and capable of working both independently and in a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong time and relationship management skills.


Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Management or Human Resources.
  • Minimum of five years of related HR experience.
  • Experience with ATS, performance management, and HR systems (ADP, Workday) is an asset.
  • CPHR designation preferred.
