They have hired Charles Warren of Lock Search Group, to lead their search for a new Director of Sales. The successful candidate will join their senior leadership team and will be instrumental in delivering future growth for the organization.


The Director of Sales will lead the sales team to success by building, coaching and developing a high-performance team of sales professionals. The candidate will develop a profitable growth strategy and lead through the execution of it, shoulder to shoulder with your team and cross functional stakeholders in market. They are directly involved in building and sustaining strong customer relationships (leading by example) and provide input to marketing initiatives designed to accelerate sales outcomes. The Director of Sales also ensures the effective use of sales tools and technology by the sales team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Mobilize and empower sales teams by recruiting, onboarding, training, coaching and developing a high-performance professional sales team.
  • Engage in process improvement initiatives while managing and auditing quality processes.
  • Acquire new customers, establish and maintain key industry relationships, and explore new markets that will lead to major customer proposals and presentations that you will help lead and participate in.
  • Conduct targeted prospecting and cold-calling initiatives to grow customer base and diversify sources of revenue.
  • Implement plans to enhance stakeholders' (customers, employees, etc.) knowledge of products, systems, trends, and sector developments.
  • Advocate, apply, and actively participate in data collection initiatives to generate accurate business information and key performance indicators.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate sales strategies, plans, and activities for products, suppliers, and markets.
  • Identify sales targets and other key performance indicators (KPIs) for all revenue streams.
  • Identify, implement, and promote best practices within both inside and outside sales teams.
  • Initiate and promote new sales initiatives among the sales teams.
  • Stay current with industry developments and trends while researching ways to penetrate new customers and markets.
  • Analyze company and industry data to identify and capitalize on sales opportunities
  • Create content for and lead internal sales meetings.


REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS:


  • > 3 years of experience in sales leadership or A high performing individual contributor, ready for the next step.
  • Experience in the B2B MRO distribution industry a strong asset – although adjacent/relevant sales leaders will also be considered.
  • Post-secondary education in a related field (business, marketing and/or sales)
  • Track record of developing and executing winning sales growth strategies involving multiple stakeholders and business partners.
  • Highly motivated, driven, and capable of self-management.
  • Team-oriented, supportive, and enthusiastic.
  • Casually professional, charismatic, and dynamic.
  • Conscientious with moderate to high attention to detail.
  • Effective communicator with a sound technical aptitude.
  • Strategic mindset, with the ability to innovate and implement
  • Track record of leading leaders is a must – need to be able to connect with your team, while coaching and mentoring, but also maintaining expectations for results with accountability
  • Ability to communicate, present at an exceptional level – both written and verbal
