The Director, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (EDI) is accountable for developing, implementing, and managing Compass Group Canada’s Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) strategy and programs.

  • Own the strategic creation, development and implementation of the Diversity & Inclusion roadmap and plans to be consistent with the Compass Group Canada and People & Culture strategies including key stakeholder management
  • Oversees all Diversity & Inclusion programs, strategic initiatives and policies and ensures that they are well managed and carried out effectively
  • Develop goals and key metrics for assessing the effectiveness of diversity initiatives
  • Partners with other People & Culture functions and serves as a subject matter expert and liaison to the business to develop strategic action to attract, develop and retain diverse talent
  • Stay current on emerging issues, trends, and evolving provincial/federal requirements and partner with various business teams to identify opportunities and assess potential impacts to the organization
  • Identify, build, and maintain community partnerships to support Compass Group Canada’s diversity and inclusion projects, plans, initiatives, and business strategies
  • Recruit, select, hire and on-board the best talent; lead, coach, motivate and retain a team of high performing employees
  • Dotted line to Chief People & Culture Officer. Spokesperson for the organization EDI

  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Proven, progressive experience and demonstrated effectiveness leading Diversity & Inclusion related initiatives and programs (5+ years direct experience in the field required)
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong relationships and interact effectively with all levels of the organization and communities outside the organization
  • Excellent advisor with strong business acumen and judgment who is able to create a compelling vision, and translate strategy and business requirements into clear, actionable goals to achieve results
  • Strong, operational, communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, manage multiple projects and possess a strong knowledge of diversity metrics and analytics
