As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dynamic Director of Growth to lead our business development and sales initiatives, and drive our expansion across Canada.
The Position:
The Director of Growth (Business Development & Sales) will be responsible for creating opportunities and executing new market penetration in Specialty Pet, Grocery and Veterinary channels driving growth and expanding market presence. This role involves developing and executing growth and sales strategies, building strong relationships with key stakeholders, and ensuring our products are effectively represented and distributed across Canada.
Key Responsibilities:
Growth Strategy & Execution:
- Develop and implement comprehensive growth strategies to achieve company sales targets.
- Identify and prioritize key markets, channels, and accounts for expansion.
- Conduct market research to understand customer needs, trends, and competitive landscape.
Account Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with buyers, category managers, and other key stakeholders in the grocery, veterinary, and specialty pet channels.
- Negotiate and manage contracts, pricing, and promotional agreements.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support to existing and potential clients.
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand product distribution.
- Attend industry events, trade shows, and conferences to network and promote the brand.
- Develop and present compelling sales presentations to potential clients.
Sales Reporting & Analysis:
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, providing regular reports and insights to the team
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) and adjust strategies as needed to meet objectives.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align sales and marketing initiatives.
Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the other team members in marketing, product development, and operations, to ensure cohesive and effective go-to-market strategies.
- Provide input on product development and innovation based on customer feedback and market trends.
Qualifications:
- 5-7 years of proven experience in business development and sales in CPG.
- Demonstrated success in developing and executing sales strategies that drive growth.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze market data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to work independently.
- Strong understanding of the grocery, veterinary, and specialty pet channels in Canada is an asset.
- Eligible to work in Canada
- Willingness to travel 20% within Canada.
