Description:

The Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) works as part of an inter-disciplinary central team to build capacity for HWCDSB staff in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). The BCBA will support students with special education needs to support their transitions to school. The role of the BCBA is to oversee and supervise the work of ABA Facilitators and will include, but is not limited to the following: conducting functional behaviour assessments (FBA), development of skill building programming and behaviour support plans, data collection and analysis, professional development for staff, and using behaviour skills training for staff training with implementing ABA strategies in an educational setting. The purpose of the summer program is to provide a successful transition to Kindergarten, Grade 9, and back to school using ABA methods, by minimizing potential behavioural challenges that may present with entering and/or returning to a classroom setting.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position; it is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties:

supervise and oversee summer ABA programs and staff;

provide clinical supervision for ABA Facilitators;

conduct and analyze functional behaviour assessments

develop and support the implementation of ABA strategies to address students’ learning and behavioural needs;

collect, analyze, and interpret baseline and intervention data;

make program recommendations;

use behaviour skills training to teach program staff to implement behaviour reduction plans and skill building programs;

collaborate and work closely with board, school, and community multi-disciplinary teams; and

provide professional development to summer staff

Qualifications:

Post-graduate degree in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field;

Post-graduate level coursework in Applied Behaviour Analysis and/or a completed Verified Course Sequence (VCS) in Applied Behaviour Analysis

Qualifies for pre-registration for membership to the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario with a Certificate of Registration for a Behaviour Analyst Authorizing Autonomous Practice

Minimum 1 year of experience of autonomous practice as a behaviour analyst in an educational and/or clinical setting

Preferred Experience and Skills:

Completed Behaviour Analysis Certification Board (BACB) 8-weeks Supervision Training

5 years of experience of autonomous practice as a behaviour analyst in a clinical or educational setting

1 year of experience supervising behaviour analytic programming in a clinical setting

Supervision of teams (3 or more direct reports) delivering behaviour analytic intervention

Experience supervising ABA-based curriculum assessments and comprehensive programming

Supervision of functional analysis of complex challenging behaviour

Applicants will require a valid driver’s license and use of a vehicle.

Salary: $43.64 per hour
