**Description**:
The Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) will work as part of an inter-disciplinary central team to build capacity for various Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board (HWCDSB) staff in the development, implementation and in the maintaining of the principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA). In collaboration with the HWCDSB Student Support Services/Special

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:
The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position; it is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties:

- Develop and support the implementation of ABA strategies to address students’ learning and behavioural needs (Tier 2 and Tier 3 students);
- Conduct, collect and analyze data, interpret and share results of formal assessments to understand functions of behavior, and recommend strategies;
- Model and coach the implementation of student specific ABA strategies for classroom teachers and school teams (for Tier 1, Tier 2, Tier 3 students);
- Develop, implement, and support implementation via coaching or modelling of student specific plans, e.g., student behavior plan;
- Participate in case conferences and contribute to the development of the student Individual Education Plan (as appropriate);
- Support data collection and analysis of data to make recommendations and monitor efficacy of implemented strategies for Tier 2 and Tier 3 students;
- Collaborate and work closely with board, school, and community multi-disciplinary teams;
- Participate and, where appropriate, lead various meetings, including but not limited to school, parent, board, community;
- Support and coach school teams in the development of in-depth Functional Behaviour Assessments and Behaviour Support Plans for the purpose of providing a safe and effective educational environment for students with ASD who present with challenging behaviors and who are referred to student support services for applied behaviour analysis support;
- Provide professional development to family and community members, as required;
- Maintain and share current, evidence-based knowledge on ABA training, and research and practices;
- Develop ABA evidence-based programming for the HWCDSB for students with ASD and for students with behavioural needs, based on data collection and analysis;
- Create and present reports to board, school, and community groups and agencies, including but not limited to the HWCDSB Special Education Advisory Committee, the HWCDSB Board Committee, General Principals meetings, General Special Education Resource Teacher meetings, etc.;
- Provide clinical supervision for ABA Facilitator who is working towards qualifying for the BCBA exam;
- Participate in interviewing and selection of ABA Team members (e.g., BCBA, ABA Facilitator) positions;
- Participate in the development of the HWCDSB Board Improvement Plan for Student Achievement;
- Participate in monthly central team Managers meetings;
- Supervise HWCDSB programs related to ABA;
- Supervise the After School Skills Development Program (ASSDP) staff for their development and implementation of ABA strategies and/or board programs, e.g., ABA Facilitators, program supervisor, EAs, staff with RBT qualifications;
- Supervise the implementation of activities and strategies in the ASSDP and/or board programs as well as monitorand provide direction in regards to effectiveness and impact;
- Supervise the ASSDP program supervisors with respect to ABA responsibilities, e.g., collection and maintenance of data pertaining to ABA;
- Perform related duties as required.

**Qualifications**:

- Graduate degree in Psychology, ABA, Education or a related field;
- Minimum 1 year of certification as a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst; and
- Completed BACB approved 8-hour supervision training.
