POSITION: Intermediate Teacher - temporary

ASSIGNMENT: Grade 5

FTE: 1.0

LOCATION: Voyageur Elementary School

EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 1, 2024 until June 30, 2025 Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:

Training Specialization: Elementary Education with specialization at the intermediate level

Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at the intermediate level

A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

Other:

Willingness to support the school plan for Student Success.

Willingness to work as part of the school based team to implement plans for struggling students.

Commitment to working as part of a team in the development and implementation of the School Growth Plan and Aboriginal Enhancement Agreement.

There will be an expectation to participate in school wide learning and teaching of self-regulation strategies. Voyageur school has begun to relook at trauma informed teaching and complex behaviours with a focus on self-regulation at all levels. We will continue this work into next year and beyond so a willingness to be part of the team to move things forward.

The starting annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $61, 175 to $109,520 with placement on the range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
