The starting wage for this position is $ 34.12/hr

Commencement Date:

September 6, 2024, to November 29, 2024, or upon return of incumbent, with the latest possible end date of June 20, 2025.

Personal Assistants work to support priority students with more complex needs, including direct care such as mobility assistance, toileting/diapering, feeding, grooming, and dressing. Applicants should be prepared for the physical demands of the job, and willing to participate in the swimming program. Inclusive, patient, positive and supportive attitudes are key Applicants should have a flexible and growth mindset and be able to identify and work with student strengths. Applicants must have a desire to learn a wide variety of skills to help students be successful in meeting their goals and being an integral part of the school community. Applicants must be willing to work with any assigned student in a variety of school settings.

Qualifications:

Secondary School graduation.

Previous experience in working with children.

Ability to organize work effectively.

Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.

Ability to handle and maintain all information with a high degree of confidentiality.

Equivalent combination of training and experience.

Familiarity with aboriginal culture is an asset.

Clear Criminal Record Check.
