Specialized Programming Teacher

Namao School, located just minutes north of the City of Edmonton, is a facility that includes Kindergarten and Grades 1-9, with an approximate total population of 400 students and 40 staff (professional, support and custodial).
FTE: 1.0 FTE; Full-Time Temporary from Aug 26, 2024 to Jun 30, 2025
Qualifications and Attributes:
A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Experience and training teaching Specialized Programming
NVCI or TCI training preferred
Bachelor's degree in Education with a specialty in Special Education, or related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience working with students with developmental disabilities and diverse learning needs in inclusive and/or self-contained classrooms
Level B Assessment Training is not required but considered an asset
Knowledge and experience with current evidence-based practices
Knowledge and experience with ABLLS (Assessment of Basic Language and Learning Skills), AFLS (Assessment of Functional Living Skills), Emergent Literacy and Numeracy, and Functional Behavioral Analysis is not required but considered an asset
Strong communication, organization and interpersonal skills
Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, school staff, educational assistants, therapists and parents to implement and evaluate Individualized Program Plans (IPPs) for students accessing modified programming
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team
Provide coaching and support to teachers and staff on inclusive teaching practices and strategies
