THE ROLE

The Military Lifestyle Coach - Veteran Family Program, delivers programs and services directed towards the enhancement of the quality of life for military families. Leading with an understanding of military lifestyle complexities, focused on families experiencing the transition from military to civilian life, the person in this role has a responsibility to establish, foster and sustain a network of community contacts and partnerships. Working within a multidisciplinary team, they will design, coordinate, and facilitate the delivery of programs and events, as well as develop and deliver resources and support to Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) families and community partners.

The Military Lifestyle Coach - Veteran Family Program will work with families to understand their individual family journey and recommend referral and follow-up services when specialized professional services within, and outside the military system, are required. Utilizing a holistic and integrated approach to family service, the Military Lifestyle Coach will develop and deliver presentations to CAF families, military entities, and stakeholders. Additionally, they will note trends and bring forward innovative strategies to enhance program and service delivery for CAF members and their families.

QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and Licenses

College Diploma in Social Services, Mental Health, Human Services, or a related field.

AND

Several years of experience in direct community service delivery.

Experience

In working with a cross-section of the community
In conducting client needs assessments and life coaching
In developing and delivering information sessions
In establishing, sustaining and fostering a network of community contacts and partnerships
In preparing and implementing multi-media social marketing campaigns
In creating visual aids and marketing support material
In data entry, record-keeping and retrieval techniques
In organizing, implementing and evaluating programs
In applying policies, procedures and regulations
In developing and facilitating self-help and support groups
In providing emotional support
In client case management
In budget administration

Competencies, Skills and Abilities

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and
leadership.

LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

English or French Essential, Bilingual an asset

Reading: Advanced
Writing: Functional
Oral: Advanced

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Enhanced Reliability Clearance.
This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
Willing to commute to locations throughout NCR as required.
Evening and weekend work as required.
The selection process may be done virtually.
The anticipated term for this position is March 31, 2025.
