Job Posting - Secondment

POSITION: TR Leger Summer Semester Graduation Coach

FTE: 1.0 for the duration of the term

LOCATION: TBD

NUMBER OF POSITIONS: 1-2, depending on student enrolment

START DATE: July 2, 2024

END DATE: August 16, 2024, or 110 hours, whichever comes first

Total: 110 hours

Salary - grid prorated based on time worked

Travel may be required

Summary:

Under the direction of the Principal of Summer Semester, the Summer Semester Grad Coach will co-plan, facilitate and support student credit recovery learning and graduation progress during the Summer Semester time period specified within this posting.

Responsibilities:

To implement and support Ministry of Education and Board initiatives related to continuation of learning and credit recovery during the summer.

To work with students, mainstream school administration and Summer Semester administration to co-plan, facilitate and support student learning and achievement as related to credit recovery and graduation progress.

Knowledge/Skills:

Demonstrates knowledge and skill in working with students at risk

Demonstrates knowledge and skill in the use of technology

Demonstrates a learning mindset

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the Ontario curriculum

Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of assessment, evaluation, and differentiation strategies to support student learning and achievement

Excellent organizational and time management skills

Exemplary interpersonal and team building skills

Experience in integrating technology into teaching practice

Familiar with a wide range of communication strategies

Qualifications and Experience:

Qualifications:

An Ontario Teacher’s Certificate of Qualification in good standing

Cooperative Education Part 1 preferred

Guidance Part 1 preferred

Qualifications in Intermediate/Senior

Specialist qualification in a secondary subject area is preferred

Minimum of 5 years teaching experience

Member of the Ontario College of Teachers in good standing

Placement Teacher References: If providing a Placement Teacher as a reference, The UCDSB will require confirmation and approval from the Principal at the Placement School that the deferred reference (Placement Teacher) is approved to provide reference on behalf of the Principal.

The UCDSB does not accept colleagues or personal relationships as references.

Selection Process:

Positions are filled in accordance with the OSSTF Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement and/or PPM 165 where applicable.
