Can-Tech Services is looking for a Project Manager for one of our reputable Manufacturing clients in Vaughan.

Our client is a leading manufacturer that develops customized high-performance HVAC systems for vehicles and machinery in construction, agriculture, forestry, mining, material handling and utility vehicle industries, making the driest or wettest surroundings and the most extreme hot or cold weather unnoticeable. Their premium products are relied upon to provide a comfortable climate, exceeding our customers' expectations.

Position Type: Permanent/Full-Time (Monday to Friday).

Education:

  • University Degree with preference in Engineering
  • PMP certified Preferred or to be completed within 1 year

Skills Requirement:

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Experience in project management software, preferably in Workfront

Years of experience:

  • 5 to 10 years experience

Preferred Experience:

  • The ideal candidate should have a few years experience with product design and manufacturing company for wheeled vehicles and preference in the HVAC experience.
  • The candidate would have a bachelors degree with preference in engineering or management as well as PMP certification or plan to complete within one year.
  • The candidate would be a hands-on Project Manager familiar with product development and is self-motivated team player with good communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:

This position report to Director of Project Management and would be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Manages the daily activities of the project management for several types of projects but primarily New Product Design Launch (NPDL) management. This would include providing guidance and advice to team members of various project teams, provides direction and optimal support to departments related to engineering design, supply chain, and continuous improvement in manufacturing processes for efficiency, productivity, quality, repeatability and consistency. Contact with persons inside and outside the company requiring some resourcefulness, tact and knowledge of complex technology and procedures.

Job Description:

  • Responsible for development and execution of project management systems that complete projects within established schedules and budgets, while meeting performance requirements.
  • Responsible to develop, track and create actions around key performance metrics within the NPDL program management group. At a minimum these include on-time delivery, financial performance and performance on program launch within the operational facilities.
  • Ensure proper project feasibility practices are followed to support the company and customer success on all new programs.
  • Make certain that the project teams you are overseeing are performing proper project kick-off processes to ensure timeliness and proper communication at the inception of all new programs. Complete communication needs to be developed with both internal and external touch points.
  • Responsible to develop and execute proper steps during the development phase of all projects, of primary importance is the need to have all required operations completed prior to pre-set timeline.
  • Ensure that the qualification phase of all projects is closely adhered to and also continuously improving our ability to reduce timing and/or cost of the qualification process.
  • Make certain that there is a proper project review process in place and adhered to for all NPDL programs to ensure proper launch is executed at all facilities.
  • Responsible for regular communication meetings that covers the major aspects of the upcoming projects (engineering design and/or change, prototype, material, lead time, etc.).
  • Responsible to track key milestones and financial aspects of all current projects.
  • Responsible to support weekly management review that will properly escalate any projects that are in jeopardy or already not meeting timing commitments.
  • Responsible to ensure the project teams are adhering to all ISO requirements and continually improving our processes to become more efficient.
