COLTENE is a global leader in the development, manufacture and sale of consumables and small-size equipment for dental treatment applications. We currently have an opening for a Production Scheduler/ECO Administrator to join our team. This is a 1 year contract position.

Reporting to the Supply Chain and Business Intelligence Director, the Production Scheduler/ECO Administrator, will assist the operations team by scheduling the production of manufactured equipment and spare parts, developing SAP training manuals, and conducting spreadsheet analysis during issue resolution and planning scenarios.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Production Scheduling Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to optimize resource utilization and meet production goals.
  • Collaborate with production teams to understand project requirements, timelines, and priorities.
  • Calculate the required daily production levels for our four (4) production lines over the next 12 months to meet the latest S&OP forecast.
  • Monitor and update production schedules regularly, considering changes in project scope, resource availability, and other relevant factors.
  • Identify, in the weekly schedule, loaners requested by customer service, units that need to be produced under a TDN, and special units requested by R&D, Tech Service, or BU.
  • Coordinate with department heads to allocate resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, according to the production schedule.
  • Anticipate and address potential resource constraints or bottlenecks to ensure a smooth workflow.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments to ensure clear communication and understanding of production schedules.
  • Work with Purchasing Officers to validate that all required materials for the next five (5) weeks will be available on time.
  • Communicate changes in production schedules to relevant stakeholders promptly and effectively.
  • Facilitate regular meetings to review production schedules, address concerns, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collect and analyze production data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Use data insights to recommend optimizations for production processes and schedules.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of production schedules, resource allocations, and project statuses.
  • Generate regular reports on production performance, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.
  • Proactively identify and address challenges in the production process, working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to find effective solutions.
  • Implement corrective actions to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.

ECO Key Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently process and implement new or revised Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) in the SAP system.
  • Ensure compliance with specified conditions outlined by the R&D department.
  • Manage changes to implementation dates, revision numbers, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and material master settings for raw materials, assemblies, finished products, and associated documents.
  • Release ECOs through Q-Pulse and SharePoint/Master Log, compiling a final ECO PDF file incorporating all required worksheets, drawings, and email confirmations from relevant departments.
  • Update the Engineering Change Request (ECR) and ECO status in the Master Log (ECR/ECO Database) workspace.
  • Archive and release drawings and files as per the specifications outlined in the ECO form.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Create Q-Pulse Actions as necessary for individuals involved in the ECO implementation process, aligning with ECO requirement conditions.
  • Send timely and accurate emails to the ECO Distribution List, outlining actions to be taken by members based on their areas of expertise.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Finance, Data Analytics, or a related field.
  • APICS Supply Chain training certifications are considered an asset.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Proven experience in production scheduling or a related administrative role.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficient in using production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific production processes.
  • Experience with ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems, such as SAP.
