As a key member of the maintenance team the Senior Maintenance Technician will ensure that the day-to-day operations run smoothly and efficiently. The Senior Maintenance Technician will be responsible for maintaining and servicing equipment used in the facility. Additionally, they will warrant safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.

Critical Success Factors:

  • Installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, repair and upgrading of industrial electrical equipment in a food processing environment.
  • Installation, maintenance and repair of industrial electrical and electronic control systems and devices
  • Installation and maintenance of communication data systems, emergency stand-by systems, heating, ventilation and climate control systems
  • Carry out work orders, apply corrective action and document all maintenance activities
  • Read and understand blueprints, drawings and code specifications for layout and installation of electrical equipment
  • Make recommendations and promote best practices
  • Support health and safety programs

Key Attributes of the Ideal Candidate:

  • A valid BC or interprovincial Red Seal Journeyman Certificate of Qualification as an Electrician
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience Food manufacturing experience, Dairy an asset
  • Knowledge of plant and equipment operations
  • Ability to identify, problem solve and research alternatives within the scope of the job
  • Good mathematical, analytical, and problem solving skills
  • Have a strong commitment to health and safety, quality and continuous improvement
  • Autonomous, able to work with little supervision in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong computer skills be familiar with CMMS, HIPPO an asset
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience in preventative maintenance
  • Strong electrical, VFD and PLC troubleshooting skills an asset
  • Professional written and verbal communication
  • Team-oriented
  • Additional experience or education and training an asset, i.e. millwright, welding, refrigeration

Flexibility is a requirement as days of work or start/end times vary with seasonal or departmental needs.
