Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the successful candidate will help ensure that BET99 remains in compliance with all applicable legal and regulatory obligations. This position will begin with a particular focus on privacy and vendor management but will also assist the internal audit function and support internal stakeholders with other compliance-related tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Review vendor due diligence materials and contracts to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain vendor files and coordinate the timely completion of vendor documentation.
  • Research vendors and prepare vendor reports for the company's Compliance Committee, outlining any potential risks associated with each vendor.
  • Regularly communicate with other departments to identify and address any current pain points in the vendor management process and develop improved procedures.
  • Guide internal stakeholders through applicable Canadian privacy regulations and the Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) process implemented by iGaming Ontario.
  • Review PIA evaluation forms and ensure internal alignment on proposed information sharing.
  • Prepare PIA-related submissions and approval documentation for new offerings or initiatives.
  • Prepare timely responses to PIPEDA requests and regulators' ad hoc information requests.
  • Recommend improvements to current privacy-related training based on employee feedback.
  • Facilitate external audits and assist the internal audit function by organizing responsive materials.
  • Document updates to internal controls in the company's Control Activities Matrix.
  • Serve as an internal point of contact on privacy, audit, and vendor management-related matters and share information clearly and efficiently among the Compliance team, regulators, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other compliance-related duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • University graduate with an excellent academic background, or equivalent experience in compliance or regulatory affairs at a Canadian government agency or online gaming company.
  • CIPP/C (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada) certification, previous experience in a privacy-related role, or demonstrated familiarity with Canadian privacy laws and regulations.
  • Extremely strong attention to detail and the ability to understand the nuances of multiple sets of regulations and apply each correctly given the fact pattern presented.
  • Ability to plan and prioritize various tasks in a fast-paced environment, ensuring all internal and external deadlines are met.
  • Practical problem-solving skills to meet desired regulatory outcomes if requirements change on short notice or alternative solutions are required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and experience communicating with regulators or similar external stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 applications (at a minimum, Outlook, Excel, and Word) and the ability to quickly become proficient when working with new software and technology. Experience working with PowerBI is preferred.
  • Native level of fluency in written and spoken English, with a strong preference for candidates who are also fluent in both written and spoken French.
  • Previous experience in the gaming industry, particularly the Canadian gaming industry, is considered a strong asset.

  • Maintenir à jour les dossiers des fournisseurs et coordonner la finalisation des documents requis en temps opportun.
  • Effectuer des recherches sur les fournisseurs et préparer des rapports pour le Comité de conformité, en identifiant les risques potentiels associés à chaque fournisseur.
  • Communiquer régulièrement avec les autres départements afin d'identifier et de résoudre les problèmes liés à la gestion des fournisseurs et proposer des améliorations aux processus en place.
  • Guider les parties prenantes internes sur la réglementation canadienne en matière de protection des renseignements personnels ainsi que sur le processus d'Évaluation des facteurs relatifs à la vie privée (EFVP) mis en place par iGaming Ontario.
  • Examiner les formulaires d'évaluation EFVP et assurer l'alignement interne sur le partage d'information proposé.
  • Préparer les soumissions et la documentation d'approbation liées aux nouvelles offres ou initiatives.
  • Rédiger des réponses en temps opportun aux demandes en vertu de la LPRPDE ainsi qu'aux demandes ponctuelles des organismes de réglementation.
  • Proposer des améliorations aux formations internes sur la protection des renseignements personnels en fonction des commentaires des employés.
  • Faciliter les audits externes et soutenir la fonction d'audit interne en organisant les documents requis.
  • Documenter les mises à jour des contrôles internes dans la matrice des activités de contrôle de l'entreprise.
  • Servir de point de contact interne pour les questions liées à la protection des renseignements personnels, aux audits et à la gestion des fournisseurs, et assurer une communication claire et efficace entre l'équipe de conformité, les organismes de réglementation et les autres parties prenantes internes.

Compétences et qualifications

  • Diplôme universitaire avec un excellent dossier académique ou expérience équivalente en conformité ou en affaires réglementaires auprès d'un organisme gouvernemental canadien ou d'une entreprise de jeu en ligne.
  • Certification CIPP/C (Certified Information Privacy Professional/Canada), expérience dans un rôle lié à la protection des renseignements personnels ou connaissance approfondie des lois et réglementations canadiennes en la matière.
  • Grande rigueur et souci du détail, avec la capacité de comprendre les subtilités de divers règlements et de les appliquer correctement selon le contexte.
  • Capacité à organiser et prioriser plusieurs tâches dans un environnement dynamique, tout en respectant les échéances internes et externes.
  • Aptitude à résoudre des problèmes de manière pragmatique afin d'atteindre les objectifs réglementaires, notamment en cas de modifications soudaines des exigences ou lorsque des solutions alternatives doivent être mises en place.
  • Excellentes compétences en communication écrite et orale, avec une expérience en communication avec des organismes de réglementation ou d'autres parties prenantes externes.
  • Bonne maîtrise des applications Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel et Word au minimum) et capacité à s'adapter rapidement aux nouveaux logiciels et technologies. Une expérience avec Power BI est un atout.
