Senior Production Planner

The Opportunity:
As the Senior Planner you will get the chance to work closely with the Production Manager, playing a vital part in managing key functions within production control. You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely support for both customers and internal teams across various departments.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Reviewing production schedules and work orders to determine material requirements and priorities.
- Collaborating with department supervisors and other personnel to assess progress and discuss necessary changes.
- Analyzing production schedules against customer commitments and recommending adjustments as needed.
- Revising production schedules to accommodate design changes, labor or material shortages, backlogs, or other interruptions, while coordinating with management, sales, marketing, production, and engineering teams.
- Monitoring system accuracy continuously and implementing improvements.
- Maintaining and updating the Open Order Report daily. Reviewing the previous day’s shipments and coordinating with supervisors on components ready for shipment. Meeting weekly with production to review past-due orders.
- Distributing Open Customer Orders Reports weekly, and reviewing select customer orders for accuracy, updating delivery dates, and addressing any delays.
- Managing Bell VMI (vendor-managed inventory), conducting daily reviews to ensure sufficient inventory levels, and triggering production orders through Transfer orders. Resolving discrepancies, spikes, forecasts, and delays with Bell regarding transfer shipments.
- Performing other duties as assigned.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful:
- University or College education with relevant experience in production and inventory management within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with solid business knowledge.
- Experience with ERP systems, particularly Syteline.
- Knowledge of ISO9001/TS 16949 Quality system standards.
- A keen eye for detail, with exceptional organizational and time management skills.
- The ability to work independently and in collaboration with the Production Manager, handle high-pressure situations, and meet critical deadlines effectively.
