Position: Full-time UI/UX Game Designer

Location: Remote (ideally in EST in Quebec or New York - open to other Canadian and U.S. locations)


We are looking for a UI/UX Game Designer to join a leading Gaming company In this role you will plan and implement large-scale UI features in close collaboration with Design and Engineering Leads to deliver major experiential features for future releases of their Unity based product offerings.


Having a passion for Gaming is essential for this position


Key Responsibilities:


  • Build and maintain large-scale UI features within their Systems Org and contribute directly to design guidelines and style guides
  • Gain proficiency in software tools and pipeline processes to implement visual designs (including visual elements like text, bitmaps, and animations) to a fully-functional and polished state
  • Collaborate with Engineering on toolbox, technical requirements, and data flows
  • Collaborate closely with fellow designers to creatively solve design problems, taking into account UX/UI principles and technical limitations
  • Ideate, advocate for and prototype functional UI for both major and minor updates regularly
  • Advocate best practices for UI content development and principles and communicate changes to stakeholders across a whole project
  • Utilize graphics software applications to design and produce graphics for UI content
  • Aid and support in final design and visual polish of various in-game elements, as needed


Skills & Requirements:

  • 3+ years of professional experience with UI/UX in game development
  • Deep understanding of UI principles
  • Proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud
  • Experience in the field of technical implementation and deployment of games or software solutions
  • Skills in implementing a fully functional and visually polished User Interface
  • Practical understanding of UX methodology, UI mechanics, and Design theory
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills including excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • An understanding of graphics optimization and engine constraints
  • Ability to take creative approach to solving challenging, complex problems
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to follow established conventions
  • Enthusiasm for for the gaming industry and making outstanding game UI


Nice-to-Haves:

  • Scripting/programming experience
  • Illustration and drawing skills
  • Experience working in Agile and using a User-Centered Design process
  • Previous working experience in games across multiple platforms
